Accept High Court Ruling On Liquid Nicotine As Legal Poison

We refer to the above matter. This press statement addresses the historic High Court ruling that effectively restored liquid nicotine to its rightful place as a Class C Poison under the Poisons Act 1952 (Act 366). It urges the government to implement a comprehensive, dual-legislative strategy by strictly enforcing Act 852 in tandem with Act 366. Furthermore, the statement advocates for establishing a prescription-only clinical model, mitigating the rising youth healthcare burden of EVALI and acute toxicities, and upholding medical consensus by expanding future stakeholder dialogue to include public health organizations and MMI. The statement concludes by calling for decisive action from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to reverse the commercialization of addictive substances and safeguard Malaysia's public health safety baseline.
